NEW Member & Construction

Becoming A Member!

All members interested in receiving electric service from Jump River Electric Cooperative will need to complete a Membership Application, Easement, and a tax exempt form, if applicable, upon signing up for service.  A deposit may also be required, along with other related charges.  The deposit amount will be based on a soft credit pull. Forms can be found below.

To make bill payment easy, sign up for automatic payment through SmartHub.  You can pay your bill online with a checking/savings account or by credit/debit card.  You can also pay-by-phone by calling our toll-free number 1-888-255-6489.  Members who sign-up for the first-time for automatic payment through a checking/savings account will also qualify for a $15 one-time credit on your next energy bill.

Here is how the Automatic Payment Plan works.  Each month you will receive your power bill by mail, as usual, unless you request paperless billing.  Then, your financial institution will automatically deduct your payment from the checking/savings account or credit/debit card you setup through SmartHub on your due date.  The Automatic Bill Payment Plan saves you time, postage, and your bill are always paid on time.  You never have to worry about a penalty charge, bill being lost in the mail, and you won't have to sit down and write a check.   Please note this option is available to all members.

Construction / New Electric Service

If you are building a new home, remodeling, or changing your existing service and will require a new electric service or service change, please call us four to six weeks prior to when you need it. Several things must be done before the service can be installed. The route of the line has to be determined and staked, a membership application must be completed, an easement needs to be obtained and recorded with the the Register of Deeds, and an estimate for cost of construction will be provided after meeting with the home owner.

The first step to any construction project is to call Diggers Hotline before you dig - Dial 811.  811

In addition, payment for the line/service must be made prior to construction. The cost of the electric service depends on the length of the line extension to be built along with other fees. See the following chart for some of these fees:

While we work hard to install your new electric service as soon as possible, even on short notice, it really helps when we are notified in advance. We also provide many other products and services you may want to considers, from electric heat to Viasat high-speed Internet. Be sure to also take advantage of the many rebates available to you through the Energy Sense program.
